Scrap Metal Recycling with Smart Lion
Why recycle with Smart Lion Metal Recycling?
Smart Metal Recycling
Scrap metal recycling is a crucial step in protecting the Earth from further environmental damage. Natural resources are conserved and extracted at a smaller scale as recycled scrap metals are utilised instead to be refined into metals used in activities such as manufacturing. This satisfies our aims of reducing a negative influence on the environment as we minimise wastage and encourage a more sustainable practice.
What is scrap metal?
Scrap metal are mixtures of waste metal or any material that contains metals or has metallic features. This scrap metal is then recycled and undergoes smelting and further processing to be used in the making of goods and other materials. Non-ferrous and ferrous metals from appliances, building materials, vehicles, and others hold the potential of being recycled as scrap metal.
Scrap metals possess a great deal of worth in the market as it often carries with it the connotation of helping create a more sustainable economy and environment. As they can be reused and recycled perpetually, it is often a key element in the manufacturing industry
when finished goods and products sometimes rely on large scale purchases of scrap metal. For example, copper previously used for electrical wiring to power homes can be recycled and processed to create copper pipes that provide homes with access to clean water.
It is our goal to create a sustainable future for the future generations by maintaining a clean environment, and one of the major steps towards that direction is through scrap metal recycling.
We have a licence issued from the Police and the MBSJ.

Determining non-ferrous and ferrous metals
Identifying if a metal is ferrous or non-ferrous is a fundamental stage in the recycling process at our company. A ferrous metal is a metal in which a large percentage of it is composed of iron. On the contrary, a non-ferrous metal does not have a substantial amount of iron in its composition. By using a magnet, a ferrous metal will be attracted to it whereas a non-ferrous metal would not be attracted.
Non-ferrous scrap metals hold the greatest value, where non-ferrous scrap metal with the most resistance to corrosion possess a great deal of worth. Such metals include copper, brass, aluminium, zinc, magnesium, tin, lead, and nickel. Ferrous metals such as steel and iron hold much less value but are still profitable when recycling if there happens to be a substantial amount of it. Steel is used in construction, making tools and chisels, car bodies, cutlery, etc.
